MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK'S ADDRESS TO TURKISH YOUTH
Turkish Youth, Your first duty is to preserve and to defend Turkish
Independence and the Turkish Republic forever. This is the very
foundation of your existence and your future. This foundation is your most
precious treasure. In the future, too, there may be malevolent people at
home and abroad, who will wish to deprive you of this treasure. If some
day you are compe lled to defend your independence and your Republic, you
must not hesitate to weigh the possibilities and circumstances of the
situation before doing your duty. These possibilities and circumstances
may turn out to be extremely unfavourable. The enemies c onspiring against
your independence and your Republic may have behind them a victory
unprecedented in the annals of the world. It may be that, by violence and
trickery, all the fortresses of your beloved fatherland may be captured,
all its shipyards occupied, all its armies dispersed and every corner of
the country invaded. And sadder and graver than all these circumstances,
thos e who hold power within the country may be in error, misguided and
may even be traitors. Furthermore, they may identify personal interests
with the political designs of the invaders. The country may be
impoverished, ruined and exhausted. Youth of Turkey's future, even in
such circumstances it is your duty to save Turkish Independence and the
Republic. You will find the strength you need in your noble blood.
Our beloved sons.. fallen soldiers while defending our country against terrorist pkk.
Rest in peace brothers..
We don't call them dead.. there are martyrs, they're alive!

There's only so much you can learn in one place
The more that I wait, the more time that I waste
I'll work and I'll fight, Till I find a place of my own
It sways and it swings and it bends until you make it your own
I can make it alone

Some of the biggest misconceptions that many non-Muslims have about Islam have to do with the word "Allah". For various reasons, many people have come to believe that Muslims worship a different God than Christians and Jews. This is totally false, since "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for "God" - and there is only One God. Let there be no doubt - Muslims worship the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus - peace be upon them all.
Sao Luis, Maranhao, Northeast of Brazil. About 5 cm of size. I found it in a orange tree. Look that it owns retractible horns in form of swallow-tail. This organ is an eversible glandular sac on the first thoracic segment that secretes an unpleasant-smelling substance, providing both an olfactory and visual shock for would-be predators.
While trying to get a supermacro, I finished registering this surprising behavior of the orange tree caterpillar. When I touched accidentally its head, it expelled two surreal horns that, beyond being visually aggressive, exhaled a strong musk odour, in a strategy of defense evolutionarily molded to move away possible predator
This shows how the Turks dealt with problem cases. Ivo Andric describes this exact scene in "Bridge on the Drina", and adds that the impaling is done by Roma (Gypsies) who are specially trained to be able to hammer a stake into the anus and out between the shoulder blades without hitting any organs. You really want to get the new guy here, because he might graze a lung and get you off this mortal coil a few hours earlier.
6th Anglo-Indian Division was besieged in Kut-al-Amara on the banks of the River Tigris by the Turks and their German advisors between 07 December 1915 and 29 April 1916. The siege would end in defeat when all relief efforts failed and the garrison surrendered due to starvation and disease. This image shows one of the few defences the garrison had against German-Turkish Air Force attacks.
British officers and Sikh soldiers of the 45th Sikhs, pose for a photograph after the relief of Chakdara Fort. Circa 1897. Defence of Chakdara Fort by six British officers and 240 Indian soldiers of the 45th Sikhs and 11th Bengal Lancers against 14,000 Pathan tribesmen, must rank as one of the greatest feats of arms in military history.
For six days and seven nights, these men drove off all attacks upon the fort and covered themselves and their regiment with glory. The officer on the extreme left is Haldane Rattray, who received a neck wound after leading a charge to retake the hospital in Chakdara Fort for which he was awarded the DSO. He later commanded the 45th Sikhs during World War I and was tragically killed in Kut, Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq) after it was lost to Turks, during a long siege. The 45th Sikhs was decimated in this battle.

"For winter's rains and ruins are over,
And all the seasons of snows and sins;
The days dividing lover and lover,
The light that loses, the night that wins;
And time remembered is grief forgotten,
And frosts are slain and flowers begotten,
And in green underwood and cover
Blossom by blossom the spring begins."
